I’m Jan (1968), better known as Oemoemenoe on the various motorcycle forums. I’m relatively new to motorbike travel, just a couple of times to the Eiffel and a week Normandy/Britanny with some friends. I usually go by car or plane with Jacqueline, my girlfriend/wife. I life in Goes and I’m preparing for the SWD since November 2008. I drive a BMW R1100GS, which is quite prepared for Morocco with the various hard-parts, protection for headlight and oilcooler and some other nice things as wide footrests and spoiler. All provided by our ‘house supplier’ Touratech.
My GS is equipped with new HyperPro shocks since last year, which are fully adjustable. This will turn out to be very practical for the mountainous stages of the trip in Morocco. The past year, quite some parts have been replaced preventively such as the fuelpump, iridium spark plugs, throttle cable, clutch cable, all fluids etc. in order to minimize the risk for problems under way. In case something happens, I’m a member of KNMV-breakdown service. Nothing is certain, even for a BMW… 
I’m driving with Michelin Anakee2 for front tire, and the Metzeler Tourance (old-edition) rear.
